The definition of "executive actors" for internal security is to be qualified by the fact that the EU does not hold official competences for the operational provision on internal security. However, the networks, agencies and working groups listed under this section are likely to undertake executive coordination task, such as in criminal cases or wider security ooperations. In light of the varied degree of formalisation and flexible range of participants, a further distinction is made between networks that are associated to the EU and other European networks. The listing is reviewed on a regular basis according to new research findings and official documents that reveal more information.
